The Internet and professional journalism: content, practice and values in Irish online news

摘要: Journalism’s encounter with the Internet has engendered a multi-layered debate concerning place of established news media and its practitioners in public communication. The affordances re-animate familiar themes discussions journalism, not least power relations, gate-keeping objectivity claims. In many popular some academic analyses, so-called ‘traditional’ journalism is under examination because economic forces driving development digital networked media, but also univocal nature older its enclosed culture, considered at odds potential reconstituted sphere founded open, interactive system emerging spaces.
