Combination bands and the measurement of the auditory filter

摘要: An experiment was conducted to determine if combination bands generated by the interaction of signal and noise distorts measures auditory filter shape. Probe tones with frequencies 0.68, 0.76, 0.84, 0.92, 1.0 kHz were used measure masking patterns produced (1) a notched edges at 0.6 1.2 kHz, (2) high‐pass cutoff (3) (cutoff kHz) combined 1.0‐kHz tone. The results show that cubic difference band, tone nearest components noise, produces little any over above alone, far less than in same region. Within framework power‐spectrum model masking, data indicate this type band does not distort shape filters derived previously maskers.
