Intergranular damage in AISI 316L(N) austenitic stainless steel at 600 ◦ C: Pre-strain and multiaxial effects

摘要: This study is devoted to the effect of a multiaxial stress state and pre-straining on creep properties an austenitic stainless steel. Creep tests both smooth notched specimens have been carried out type 316L(N) steel at 600 °C. In comparison annealed state, caused substantial increase in lifetime but also dramatic drop intergranular damage resistance. The pre-strain ductility was so strong that compact tension pre-strained tested under relaxation conditions cracked, whereas were not prone cracking. A model taking into account effects developed identified basis local micro-cracks measurements specimens. It satisfactorily predicts results crack propagation tests. may provide useful estimation cracking risk as function level triaxiality ratio.
