Blanchard, Psychology Social anhedonia is an important feature schizophrenia and it a promising indicator latent liability for the disorder. Although social defined as affective construct, only limited number studies have investigated behavioral correlates construct. Studies that looked at these variables been by lack appropriate measures affiliation, control contributions current depressive symptoms inclusion both male female participants. The study sought to extend past research addressing limitations listed above. A cohort psychometrically identified anhedonics normally hedonic controls were from large college sample. participants completed clinical interview series questionnaires. interviews focused on mood disorders, spectrum personality disorders. questionnaires selfreports general tendencies express emotion. then presented with affect eliciting films clip during which their emotional expressions recorded. After each film, they asked self report state. Contrary hypothesizes did not differ in terms experience or expression. findings could be result small sample sizes, validated self-report experience, nature behavior collected among other limitations.
