摘要: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been grown directly on metallic wires by a powerful but simple technique, which we call cold-plasma chemical vapour deposition. The growth occurs an Fe catalyst supported kanthal while heating under hydrocarbon precursor gas and plasma created bias. A possible application for such is in luminescent tubes. To realize devices, it important to grow the with controlled density, length, alignment. In present investigation made systematic scanning electron microscopy study of these nanotubes. rate CNTs found be very high. Just few seconds sufficient covering large surface area. Increased time leads enhanced site density diameter increases temperature. are not always straight; spiral behaviour quite often observed. We observed, probably first time, increase periodicity increasing On applying high bias wire (creating plasma), number structures was reduced; instead, mostly aligned self-supporting were formed, lengths as 45 μm.
