摘要: Otters (Lutra canadensis) have been protected in Montana since the 194950 trapping season but there is evidence that a few are unintentionally taken traps and some may be eliminated by acts of vandalism. Unfounded reports from Lincoln County indicated these animals undesirable. Some fishermen claim they reduce number trout bass thus contribute to poor fishing. trappers declare otters destroy muskrats, beavers minks. A survey literature did not reveal information substantiate or refute claims so it seiemed desirable make further studies on otter.
