摘要: Polyurethanes (PUs) are widely used for many engineering applications due to their diversified properties caused by different components and additives. Polyurethane (PU) foams, as one of the most important PU materials, in automotive parts, bedding, cushion, flotation, insulation materials packaging. However, industry relies heavily on petroleum-derived chemicals because synthesis involves two major component (i.e. polyols isocyanates) currently both derived from non-renewable petroleum resources. Today, growing bioeconomy has intensified interest development biobased (BPU) foams using biopolyols (also known bio-oils) agricultural forestry residues. This chapter aims summarize recent conversion technologies residues into biopolyols, methods preparation BPU bio-resources.
