The Ceto getter—its chemical structure and hydrogen gettering properties

摘要: Abstract Ceto, which is an alloy of thorium, mischmetall and aluminium used as a non-evaporating getter. In the course elaborate investigation ternary system Th-Ce-Al, it has been proved that its crystallographic structure CuAl 2 type, just like closely related binary compound Th Al. The properties Al, Ceto intermediate compounds with regard to hydrogen were studied. X-ray neutron diffraction, supplemented by nuclear magnetic resonance measurements, each at liquid nitrogen temperature, room gave information about reaction products. Hydrogen equilibrium-pressure measurements temperatures from 250°C up 700°C thermodynamic enebled calculate equilibrium pressures lower temperatures. A kinetic study, based on simple model, autocatalytic sorption reported.
