摘要: OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to assess whether a methanol extract isolated from the greater celandine Chelidonium majus L. (CME) had antioxidant effect and able inhibit proliferation induce apoptosis in leukemia cells vitro. METHODS: potential activity CME proved by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. cytotoxicity measured cell growth inhi bition assay using murine L1210 line human promyelocytic HL-60 cells. Apoptosis-inducing determined fluorescence microscopy (chromatin condensation nuclear DNA fragmentation). RESULTS: In DPPH acted as scavenger free radical. results on antiproliferative propert ies assessment clearly demonstrated that cytotoxic towards both lines dose-dependent manner. addition, were more sensitive treatment than CONCLUSIONS: We concluded C. strong exerted via due presence isoquinoline alkaloids flavonoid components may play an important role cancer chemoprevention through its modern chemotherapy apoptosis-inducing agent.
