摘要: This paper examines the threats to Indigenous water rights and territories in Andean countries. It analyzes how are embedded territories, powerful actors intervention projects tend undermine local societies indigenous livelihoods by developing large-scale infrastructure. Three cases illustrate encroachment process. In Colombia, Embera Katio people’s territory is colonized a hydropower development project. Ecuador, drinking for megacities aims belonging Oyacachi community’s highland territory. Peru, communal of Colca Valley peasantry under threat because irrigation development. As show, peoples communities actively contest undermining subordination their territorial through myriad multi-scalar livelihood defense strategies.
