摘要: Gladiolus ( x hortulanus ) is one of the most important crops for cut flowers worldwide, however having a short longevity. Usually, stems are harvested at bud stage and need water carbohydrates to support inflorescence development ensure flower quality. Vase solutions can supply these elements. However, sugars may benefit bacterial proliferation, which eventually block xylem vessels. Bactericides potentially inhibit microorganism proliferation new compounds being tested constantly. This experiment was conducted evaluate ‘White Friendship’ gladiolus performance in vase with sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate (Na-DCC), 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HQ) or polymeric biguanide (PB). Inflorescences commercial maturity were placed distilled 4% w/v sucrose plus germicides kept under ambient conditions. life, postharvest development, fresh mass, membrane stability index relations evaluated. There no visual symptoms toxicity treatments. The highest values fully-open flowers, mass balance obtained Na-DCC treatment. treated 8-HQ exhibited solution uptake wilting flowers. PB had limited effect since results similar alone. on its reduction due senescence progress only. improved balance, increased open reduced loss. Therefore, enhance quality inflorescences.
