摘要: The report gives results of an experimental and analytical investigation chemical mechanisms involved in the conversion fuel nitrogen to NO/sub x/ combustion. pyrolysis fossil fuels model compounds was investigated, droplet particle combustion models were developed, premixed flat-flame burner experiments conducted study HCN NH/sub 3/ low-pressure CH/sub 4/-O/sub 2/-Ar flames. Decomposition rates products measured helium from 850 1100C for pyridine, benzonitrile, quinoline, pyrrole; six No. 6 oils, one crude oil, two coals. major nitrogen-containing product: amount formed increased with temperature. a minor product little if any N/sub 2/ formed. demonstrated that NO forms relatively slowly above luminous zone same region where CO is oxidized CO/sub or later. Although gave similar yields NO, reacted very early flame front; most survived then slowly. A mechanism proposed which via reaction:more » O /sub+/ NCO ..-->.. CO. (GRA)« less
