摘要: Abstract This paper presents a study of method termed, multi-plane routing, that maximizes path diversity in IP routing and is targeted for access networks (AN). The motivation the work specific shortcomings conventional intra-domain principles such as “shortest-path” “best-effort” when applied ANs. We generalize these transit between routers gateway they range from simple tree to meshed topologies. uses Multi-Topology OSPF standardized by IETF instantiates multiple installations networks, each installation utilizing portion topology manner, i.e. plane (RP). Hence, all links are utilized having at least one standard including them paths router gateway. functions on extensions packet tagging allowing install separate RP. Routing facilitated proposed method’s algorithms network planning traffic engineering. former called offline algorithm rendering optimum number RPs an arbitrary independently setting link weights plane. latter online applies policy-based scheme dynamically selecting best RP based introduced QoS-aware cost function. concludes significant improvements throughput, loss rate, session blocking delays numerous cases topologies differing numbers nodes degrees meshing.
