Physical Activity Among Children Attending Preschools

摘要: Objectives. Obesity rates are increasing among children of all ages, and reduced physical activity is a likely contributor to this trend. Little known about the behavior preschool-aged or influence preschool attendance on activity. The purpose study was describe levels while they attend preschools, identify demographic factors that might be associated with those children, determine extent which children9s varies preschools. Methods. A total 281 from 9 preschools wore an Actigraph (Fort Walton Beach, FL) accelerometer for average 4.4 hours per day 6.6 days. Each child9s height weight were measured, parents participating provided education data. Results. child attended significant predictor vigorous (VPA) moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA). Boys participated in significantly more MVPA VPA than did girls, black white children. Age not VPA. Conclusions. Children9s highly variable suggests policies practices have important overall serve.
