摘要: In the quest for identifying low-cost, locally available and effective adsorbents, pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan L.) residue ash (PRA) sunflower (Helianthus annuus (SRA) were evaluated as adsorbents sequestering a basic dye, methylene blue (MB), from aqueous solution. Effects of contact time, initial solution pH adsorbent dose on MB adsorption investigated. onto PRA SRA was dependent pH, with being greater at higher pH. Percent removal increased increase in adsorbent's dose. Adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetics. Intraparticle diffusion not sole rate-controlling step. Both film intraparticle controlled process. The equilibrium data fitted well to Langmuir isotherm compared Freundlich isotherm, basis coefficient determination error analysis. maximum capacities found 58.8 62.5 mg g−1, respectively. free energy change dimensionless parameter revealed spontaneous favorable nature crop ashes. Results demonstrate that have high adsorptive potential many previously reported based hence can be used treating water contaminated cationic dyes.
