摘要: Sodium was determined by flame photometry and direct potentiometry in 56 serum or plasma samples from 24 patients with multiple myeloma macroglobulinemia. We observed differences between the two techniques as large 17 mmol/L (12%). The flame-photometric values decreased relative to direct-potentiometric protein increased water content decreased. Moreover, sodium measurements could not be interconverted simply on basis of correcting for content. There significantly lower residual variance (p less than 0.005) when were compared osmolality (corrected influence glucose urea nitrogen) so compared. conclude that potentiometric gives clinically relevant results but does not. Clearly, method which is measured must considered if are interpreted correctly.
