摘要: Inhalational anthrax is a serious biothreat. Effective antibiotic treatment of inhalational requires early diagnosis; the further disease has progressed, less likelihood for cure. Current means diagnosis such as blood culture require several days to result and advanced laboratory infrastructure. An alternative approach detection Bacillus anthracis antigen that shed into can be detected by rapid immunoassay. The goal study was evaluate poly-γ-D-glutamic acid (PGA), capsular B. anthracis, biomarker surrogate in rabbit model anthrax. mean time positive 26 ± 5.7 h (mean standard deviation), whereas ELISA 22 4.2 h; P = 0.005 comparison with culture. A lateral flow immunoassay constructed PGA plasma at concentrations than 1 ng PGA/ml. Use found somewhat earlier earliest point which became positive. low cost, ease use, format make an viable infection individuals who have exposure anthracis.
