摘要: Objective: The main aim of this study was to compare fracture load and mode yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) metal-ceramic (MC) molar crowns using a modified test set-up produce fractures similar those seen in vivo, i.e. the veneering material rather than complete fractures. Materials methods: 13 high-noble-alloy MC Y-TZP veneered with porcelain were manufactured. artificially aged before final fracture. Load applied 7 mm diameter steel ball exerting force on cusps stresses directed toward core-veneer interface. Fracture surface analysis performed light- scanning electron microscopy. Results: design produced withstood significantly (p > 0.001) higher loads (mean 2155 N) 1505 crowns, yet both endure sufficient for predictable clinical use. differed between Y-TZP. exhibited involving interface but without core exposure. One crown suffered fracture, all others except one displayed Conclusions: produces found vivo may be useful evaluate different systems, metals ceramics. confirms suggestions from previous studies weaker bond compared crowns.
