摘要: Damage to bolls of transgenic Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) cotton by southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula (L.), and tarnished plant Lygus lineolaris (Palisot de Beauvois), was evaluated in field-cage studies. Fifth instars N. confined singly over a 9-d-old boll for 3.5 d caused more damage than adult bugs or earlier instars. Boll 5th decreased as age increased from 4 18 white bloom; 18-d-old negligible. Exposure 13-d-old 7 reduced yield 59% compared with unexposed bolls. Adults L. injury similar type that 4th after confinement adults an 8-d-old 8 d. However, the much larger significantly lineolaris. These data should be particularly useful development treatment thresholds aforementioned pests Bt where insecticide use is limited.
