摘要: Abstract Keratins play a major role in several cellular functions. Each tissue type expresses specific set of keratins. The immense potential keratins as diagnostic and prognostic markers for different cancers is emerging. Oral cancer the fifteenth most common worldwide. However, comprehensive information on profile oral cavity not available. Several independent reports have identified using antibody based techniques which pitfalls due to cross reactivity antibodies this very homologous proteins. A few recent proteomic studies reported identification head neck cancer. Majority used tissues from region without specifying subsites. This study analysis enriched preparations gingivo buccal complex (GBC) MS, 2DE, WB, silver staining 2DE gels IHC. Our reveals absence K4 K13 presence K14, K16, K17, GBC combination these expression patterns cut margins. report also shows that glycosylated. well characterized may be clinics. Biological significance In years only subsite cavity, mass spectrometry, western blotting, K17 provides defined
