摘要: Unreinforced masonry (URM) structures are known to be rather vulnerable seismic loading. Modern URM buildings with reinforced concrete (RC) slabs might, however, have an acceptable performance for regions of low moderate seismicity. In particular in countries seismicity it is often difficult demonstrate the safety modern by means force-based design methods. Displacement-based methods lead more realistic and less conservative results, opening up hence new opportunities use structural masonry. An effective implementation displacement-based approaches requires reliable estimates structure’s force displacement capacity. This paper contributes this endeavour taking a fresh look at drift capacity walls hollow clay bricks mortar joints normal thickness. It discusses influence size test unit applied loading history velocity on capacities walls.
