摘要: Suppuration of the preputial gland in mice occurs as a septic complication fight wounds around external genitalia. Currently reported bacterial isolates from these lesions are limited to Staphylococcus aureus, Pasteurella pneumotropica, and Klebsiella oxytoca. In context pilot experiment aimed at defining aging phenotype estrogen receptor β knockout (BERKO) mice, 2 male (1 BERKO line other age- sex-matched wild-type control group) were discovered necropsy have lesions. both cases, histopathologic examination confirmed severe suppuration abscesses glands associated with systemic reactive (secondary) amyloidosis. Both Gram staining Bacillus Calmette-Guerin immunohistochemistry highlighted presence numerous bacillary rod-shaped bacteria within Subsequent PCR analysis coupled denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis identified Corynebacterium mastitidis abscesses. This organism is isolated infrequently milk sheep subclinical mastitis was identified part normal microflora human ocular surface. No information regarding epidemiology pathogenesis C. infection laboratory animals currently available, our knowledge this report first description mice.
