摘要: Industry observers expect VoIP to eventually replace most of the existing land-line telephone connections. Currently however, quality and reliability concerns largely limit usage either personal calls on cross-domain services such as Skype Vonage, or single-domain trunking, where a core ISP carries long-distance voice only within its backbone, save cost with unified voice/data infrastructure. This paper investigates factors that prevent deployments from achieving telephony (PSTN). We ran over 50,000 phone between 24 locations in US Europe for three-week period. Our results indicate usability is hindered much by BGP's slow convergence network congestion. In fact, about half unintelligible samples our data occur 10 minutes BGP update
