摘要: Background: In our institution, we have noted an association between periaortic hematomas (PH) present on abdominal computed tomographic (CT) scans and patients with thoracic aortic rupture (TAR) in blunt trauma. This 5-year retrospective study determined the sensitivity specificity of PH left hemothorax seen CT scan as indicator TAR. Methods: The trauma registry records identified 54 who had a abdomen arch aortogram. Fourteen TAR 40 without were selected for analysis. A digital photograph upper cut each patient was examined by radiology staff presence or absence hemothorax. Results: sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative value predictor 88%, 99%, 97%, 96%, respectively. Conclusion: finding should alert clinician to high likelihood injury.
