摘要: This paper explores the evidence for environmental influences on older adult health and activity participation, identifies current knowledge gaps limitations within this literature, offers recommendations future research via a systematic appraisal of 83 quantitative qualitative studies. A Cochrane-type review procedure was followed, which incorporated structured database searches, inclusion exclusion criteria, quality included studies, peer review. The findings identify support both personal participation in later life. Reported include ethnicity cultural norms, energy motivation, sex, age, education, genetic heritage, self-efficacy, financial circumstances. climate, level pollution, street lighting, traffic conditions, accessibility appropriateness services facilities, socio-economic aesthetics, pedestrian infrastructure, community life, exposure to antisocial behaviour, social network degradation, urbanism, natural settings, familiarity with local environment others. Recommendations need innovative methods; involvement adults as collaborators; investigation wider aspects active ageing concept; in-depth assessment characteristics areas; pathways leading from participation; more theoretically informed or increased contribution theory development.
