摘要: Abstract The Buffalo and Brays Bayous are two of the primary drainage channels in city Houston. Both Bayou Watersheds (BBW, BrBW) impacted by frequent flooding, rapid urbanization intense land cover changes. goal this research is to assess compare soil water quality changes BBW BrBW. specific objectives study 1) monitor nutrient metal concentrations samples along Bayou, 2) map long-term within these urban watersheds, 3) effect on bayou discharge, watersheds. Water from several locations were collected during multiple seasons processed for chemical analysis. Our sample analysis revealed that Cu, As Pb higher fall compared summer exceeded critical limit both bayous. indicated Zn over season background remote sensing there was a 145% 140% increase impervious surface 34.8% 34.5% decrease vegetative BrBW, respectively, due 1984–2019. contamination BrBW substantially than BBW. results provide insights adoption best sustainable management practices
