摘要: Echocardiography is a definitive tool for the assessment of aortic stenosis (AS). Echocardiographic should include morphology valve and related structures as well functional severity. Functional includes peak velocity AS jet, mean pressure gradient, area. Accurate reporting require commitment to technical excellence sophisticated understanding limitations parameters potential measurement errors. Echocardiograhers provide an overall determination severity, determine suitability treatment with transcatheter heart techniques, resolve discrepant measurements whenever possible. Three-dimensional (3D) echo has increasing role, especially in transcutaneous context. Finally, needs be viewed context function whole taking into account systolic diastolic function, cardiac remodeling, non-aortic valvular disease, influence associated conditions.
