摘要: Gastric carcinoids are of increasing clinical concern because they may develop in hypergastrinemic states, especially with the increased chronic use potent acid suppressants that can cause hypergastrinemia. However, gastric difficult to diagnose. Somatostatin receptor scintigraphy (SRS) has a high sensitivity and specificity for localizing other locations. The purpose this study was determine whether SRS could localize carcinoids. Methods: Two groups patients Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (ZES) hypergastrinemia, each having different risk developing carcinoids, were studied. One hundred sixty-two consecutive ZES studied prospectively, 39 multiple endocrine neoplasia, type 1 (MEN-1) (high risk), 123 not MEN-1 (low risk). Patients admitted hospital initially then yearly, undergoing SPECT, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, Jumbo Cup biopsies any abnormalities, as well random body. Tumor localization studies also performed. Both results routine interpretation masked review, particular attention stomach patients, correlated biopsy results. Results: positive 19 (12%) 162 patients. Sixteen had carcinoid, 12 these localization. carcinoid 75%, 95%. Positive negative predictive values 63% 97%, respectively. Conclusion: is noninvasive method identify reasonable specificity. should prove useful treatment states have an incidence In MEN-1, one must realize abdomen on be caused by pancreatic tumor.
