摘要: Background: Studies evaluating the methylation status of cytokine genes may have relevance for inflammatory diseases in which expression some cytokines is altered, such as periodontitis. This study observes DNA interleukin-8 (IL8) gene promoter cells oral epithelium subjects affected by generalized aggressive periodontitis (AgP) and compares it to those control subjects. Methods: Genomic from epithelial 37 AgP patients controls were purified modified sodium bisulphite. Modified was submitted methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction, electrophoresed on 10% polyacrylamide gels, stained. Results: Subjects who presented a higher frequency hypomethylation IL8 than that (86.5% group versus 62% group; P = 0.016; x 2 test). Conclusions: A marked hypomethylated found presenting with AgP, compared controls, region gene. reflect condition cells, including gingival epithelium, because also collected during mouthwash use.
