摘要: Choline acetyltransferase (CAT) is the enzyme responsible for formation of essential neurotransmitter ACh by catalyzing alcoholysis acetyl CoA (AcCoA). This reaction favored only slightly thermodynamically under physiological conditions (19), probably because itself a high-energy compound (12). It likely that this case coulombic interaction between trimethylammonium group and acyloxy oxygen ester (16) favors nucleophilic attack on carbonyl carbon.
