摘要: We studied the presence of von Hippel-Lindau protein (VHL-P) in 7 nontumorous pituitaries and 68 pituitary adenomas by immunocytochemistry using a polyclonal antibody which detects both normal mutated forms. In VHL-P was variable expressed cytoplasm most adenohypophysial cells. addition, weak diffuse staining noted posterior lobe. Among 53 immunopositive (78%), 32 showed only cytoplasmic, nuclear, 14 cytoplasmic nuclear immunoreactivity. densely (8 cases) sparsely (7 granulated somatotroph immunoreactivity were common; all 4 lactotroph had moderate immunostaining; functioning corticotroph presented intense 4/7 showing immunostaining as well; 3 silent subtype 1 negative; 3/4 2 exhibited immunoreactivity; thyrotroph patterns from negative 1/7, to 2/7, alone or 2/7. Only weak, focal gonadotroph female (2/4) male 1/5 type. Lastly, null cell 8 oncocytic It can be concluded that majority express with distributions intensity different tumor types. The frequent localization nuclei adenomas, least vascularized type, suggests possible inhibitory role angiogenesis.
