摘要: To improve traffic safety and mobility in work zone areas, the Dynamic Lane Merge (DLM) systems, intelligent control have been explored by several states of U.S.A. The DLM can take two forms; dynamic early merge late merge. systems were designed to advise drivers on definite merging locations. Up date, there are no studies that contrast both schemes field under matching settings. This study suggests Simplified Merging Systems (SDLMS) (early merge) supplement current Florida Maintenance Of Traffic (MOT) plans for a three-to-two- lane closure configuration. Data was collected zones I-95, three different maintenance plan treatments. first treatment standard MOT employed FDOT. second SDLMS third SDLMS. Results showed SDLMS) outperforms conventional lower demand volumes. However, results also MAS higher
