摘要: This paper develops a methodology to aggregate signals in network regarding some hidden state of the world. We argue that focusing on edges around hubs will under certain circumstances amplify faint disseminating network, allowing for more efficient detection state. apply this method detecting emergencies mobile phone data, demonstrating broad range cases and constraint how many can be observed at time, egocentric networks key effective than sampling random edges. support conclusion analytically, through simulations, with analysis dataset containing call log data from major carrier European nation.
