摘要: Gas-liquid scattering experiments are used to explore collisions and reactions of HCl DCl with 12 mol% LiBr solutions H2O D2O at 208–218 K. These ∼6 M aqueous salt have vapor pressures just below 0.01 Torr, requiring special consideration the effects gas-vapor collisions. We find that impinging molecules readily equilibrate on surface solution even incident energies 90 kJ mol−1. Approximately 90% thermalized dissolve dissociate for long times in cold salty solution, while remaining 10% desorb from intact. There is no evidence rapid, interfacial conversion into DCl, striking contrast previous observations distinct submicrosecond DCl→HCl exchange glycerol 292 results indicate water efficiently captures suppresses proton exchange, most likely because interaction contact facile transport H+ Cl− region bulk solution.
