摘要: The seismic performance of Tuned Liquid Column Dampers (TLCDs) for the passive control flexible structures is investigated using random vibration analysis. A non-stationary stochastic process with frequency and amplitude modulation used to represent earthquake strong motion, a simple equivalent linearization technique account non-linear damping force in TLCD. governing equations motion structure TLCD system are formulated reduced first-order state vector equation, from which differential equation response covariance matrix obtained. evaluated on basis selected structural statistics, namely, expected maximum root-mean-square displacements, absolute accelerations interstorey shears. parametric study sensitivity analysis conducted assess identify critical design parameters. Illustrative examples presented SDOF MDOF shear-beam models, wide-banded stationary base acceleration two input ground motions representative long- short-duration significant low-frequency content.
