摘要: This paper presents some results from a wider research on economic and environmental sustainability of organic farming. It aims to compare conventional farming in order identify the main differences between those groups farms that participated official Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN)-2003. The study is organized two sections. first part, after brief literature review most recent statistical methodologies applied similar farms, key variables (production, costs revenues) widely-used structural, balance sheet indexes. The second part describes findings case Italian fruit-growing sector. A non-parametric input-oriented frontier analysis (Data Envelopment Analysis, DEA)was used evaluate which technique makes better use their disposable productive inputs. Findings show farmers can (partially) overcome productivity gap (with respect ones) by more efficient inputs own frontier).
