摘要: The H.264 video encoding technology, which has emerged as one of the most promising compression standards, offers many new delivery-aware features such data partitioning. Efficient transmission over any communication medium requires a great deal coordination between different network layers. This paper considers increasingly popular and widespread 802.11 Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) studies schemes for delivery baseline extended profiles networks. While profile produces similar to conventional technologies, partitioning feature that divides into three sets with levels importance. allows use service differentiation provided in WLAN. examines performance existing contention-based solutions 802.11e, compares it our proposed scheduled access mechanism. It is demonstrated scheme outperforms prioritized services 802.11e standard. For partitioned video, shown overhead too high, better results are achieved if some partitions aggregated. effect link adaptation multirate operation physical layer (PHY) also investigated this paper.
