摘要: Using satellite data, the variability of a large number stratospheric trace constituents can be estimated. These need not themselves measured by satellite; their concentrations derived using photochemical steady-state relationships. The global coverage provided over long time period means that, for example, monthly zonal mean profiles derived. This has been done H, OH, HO2, H2O2, Cl, ClO, HCl, HOCl, ClONO2, NO and O. standard deviation these quantities is measure variability. We argue that comparing theoretical estimates with measurements better test theory than simply comparison single modelled observed profiles.
