摘要: Abstract A quantitative study was made of the soil-living nematodes in a natural savanna community located on University Botswana campus. Preliminary identifications produced 38 species 33 genera, 14 families and seven orders. Nematode densities were measured beneath grasses Panicum maximum , Schmidtia pappophoroides Eragrostis sp., respectively 6,360,125, 2,388,250 2,039,375 m −2 top 100 mm soil. These relatively high compared with those recorded similar studies elsewhere Africa probably reflect productivity these grasses. P. particular, is very productive perennial which favors shaded, moist environments. Unlike most soil habitats, at 50–100 mm depth had as many 0–50 mm depth. Measurement moisture content showed greater percentage which, combined surface temperatures, may explain search literature for other records from 12 formal informal identified present study, list 82 reported Botswana.
