摘要: Zoo research on exhibit designs has made notable progress in the past decades. A great challenge zoo designers are faced with today is finding that optimize both animal welfare and visitor experience. In present research, impacts of design Bennett’s wallaby behaviour experience were studied. Data collected from two open exhibits, allowing physical interaction between visitors animals, compared to observations closed designs, where no human-animal was possible. Wallaby behavioural data using focal sampling method for activity budget scan spatial distribution observations. Moreover, survey-type questionnaires randomly distributed visitors. Our study revealed that, when more traditional increase overall positively benefit perception. Additionally, our results showed feeding interactive behaviours significantly higher but functional use space similar types. Although some did differ habitat they not provide sufficient evidence major welfare. However, possible effects budgets discussed. suggest a good option optimizing without affecting welfare, we recommend continued fully understand different captive wallabies.
