摘要: The abundance and biomass of large diatoms retained in 100 μm mesh nets have been determined from 46°N to 15°S along 175°E the central Pacific Ocean during August October, 1991. Twenty-seven diatom species ranging 13 × 103 34 106 μm3 single cell volume were recognized samples obtained by a NORPAC net top 200 m water column at stations area. Numerical each within 50 or which covered most euphotic zone, mostly fraction included dinoflagellates always less than 5% total chlorophyll water, then as group much less. distribution area was largely classified into three types; distributed only 44°N north, 30°N 36°N south. second type partly overlapped first north 3rd 30–36°N. There sub-Arctic front locating between 43°N 42°N subtropical convergence 28°N, seems be important for controlling distributions.
