摘要: Fast and reliable activation of inhibitory interneurons is critical for the stability cortical neuronal networks. Active conductances in dendrites may facilitate interneuron activation, but direct experimental evidence was unavailable. Patch-clamp recordings from hippocampal oriens-alveus revealed high densities voltage-gated sodium potassium ion channels. Simultaneous somata suggested that action potential initiation occurs preferentially axon with long threshold stimuli, can be shifted to somatodendritic sites when brief stimuli are applied. After initiation, potentials propagate over domain constant amplitude, velocity, reliability, even during high-frequency trains.
