摘要: The easter gene, required for the development of all lateral and ventral pattern elements in Drosophila embryo, appears to encode an extracellular serine protease. Dominant alleles increase number cells that give rise structures. We have found nine dominant four recessive mutations are caused by single amino acid substitutions at conserved sites putative protease catalytic domain. activity products was assayed injecting vitro synthesized transcripts from into young embryos. results suggest cleave normal substrate, but fail respond a spatially asymmetric regulator.
