摘要: An apparatus and method is provided for facilitating the seamless handoff of IP connections between access routers in an network. The mobile network includes two or more each serving a different geographic service area. When terminal moves from first area to second area, transmits router address previous router. uses this information learn capabilities (e.g., bandwidths supported, security schemes, like) use future decisions, exchanges capability with assumption made based on exchanged that are geographically proximate. another transitions one another, system selects optimal target previously learned information, including inferred proximity routers.
