Multi-dimensional Solitons and Double Layers in a Magnetized Plasma

摘要: Using the reductive-perturbation technique on system of hydrodynamic equations for cold magnetized ions, Boltzmann distribution two distinct groups hot electrons, and Poisson equation, we derive a multi-dimensional modified Korteweg-de Vries equation. With appropriate boundary conditions this equation is shown to yield both soliton double layer potential profiles.
