摘要: Background The effects of overweightness and weight loss on the development prognosis hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain unclear. In this study, we aimed to evaluate impact survival patients with intermediate/advanced HCC receiving chemoembolization as initial treatment. Methods We examined 1,170 who underwent treatment for Barcelona-Clinic Liver Cancer stages B C at Sun Yat-sen University Center (Guangzhou, China) between December 2009 May 2015. A baseline body mass index (BMI) ≥23 kg/m2 was defined overweight, body-weight ≥5.0% from critical (CWL). Cox regression analysis used determine association or CWL overall (OS). Results median time 16.8 (95% confidence interval, 13.9-19.7) months 11.1 10.0-12.2) in overweight non-overweight groups (log-rank test, P < 0.001), respectively. multivariate identified an independent protective prognostic factor OS (P < 0.001). Subgroup stratification revealed a significant among further (P = 0.005), but not those (P = 0.683). Multivariate showed that both were factors Conclusion Among intermediate- advanced-stage initially treated chemoembolization, associated longer OS. Furthermore, adverse additional
