摘要: OBJECTIVE: Determine noise levels in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and identify sources of these noises. METHODS: Quantitative, descriptive exploratory study, carried out Sao Paulo. Data was collected April May 2005. A dosimeter used to record a total 96 hours measurements. Nine observation were also conducted noise. RESULTS: Leq ranged from 61.3 66.6 dBA higher on weekends. Peak values 90.8 123.4 dBC highest recorded at night. The were: beeping noises ventilators heart rate monitors, conversations between health professional others. CONCLUSION: deleterious effects high newborns professionals show need for interventions routines families' conduct.
