摘要: Abstract Levels of heavy metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn), organic carbon content textural characteristics in the surficial sediments Cochin estuary (SW coast India) adjacent are presented. Anthropogenic inputs from industries have given rise to a gradient concentration estuarine sediments. Metal accumulation initiated by precipitation iron complexes is probably responsible for enrichment Cd, Zn estuary, whereas coastal did not accumulate them same degree. Statistical analyses geochemical data indicated different association elements two provinces. The present factors (×25) Cd (×10) place region among impacted estuaries world. Accumulation this system aggravated weak flushing. These pressures deemed inevitable with growth harbour associated mega city development offing.
