摘要: The sniffing strategies of rats performing two learned odor detection tasks were monitored with a pneumotachograph and quantitatively analyzed respect to fifty-two characteristics. results this study demonstrated that the rat's varied for different odorants, concentrations same odorant, between air trials. variations resulted from changes in such descriptors as volume, duration, average flow rate, peak rate sniff number. In general, pattern began one or inspirations followed by alternating expirations. Comparison earlier later sniffs bout growth towards both maximum inspiratory expiratory which had largest rate. These occurred at near end bout. Although analysis characteristics was useful determining physiologic values airflow patterns generated sniffing, single univariate response measure incorporating twelve best descriptor how odorant stimuli.
