摘要: Background: Although evidence exists for the effectiveness of web-based smoking cessation interventions, information about cost-effectiveness these interventions is limited. Objective: The study investigated and cost-utility two computer-tailored (CT) (video- vs. text-based CT) compared to a control condition that received general advice. Methods: In randomized controlled trial, respondents were allocated video-based (N=670), textbased (N=708) or (N=721). Societal costs, status, quality-adjusted life years (QALYs; EQ-5D-3L) assessed at baseline, six-and twelve-month follow-up. incremental costs per abstinent respondent QALYs gained calculated. To account uncertainty, bootstrapping techniques sensitivity analyses carried out. Results: No significant differences found in three conditions regarding demographics, baseline values outcomes societal over months prior baseline. Analyses using prolonged abstinence as outcome measure indicated from willingness pay J1,500, intervention was likely be most cost-effective treatment, whereas J50,400, costeffective. With regard cost-utilities, when quality used measure, had highest probability being preferable treatment. Sensitivity yielded comparable results. Conclusion: CT treatment after twelve months, varying J 0u p toJ80,000. cost-utility, seemed Probably, more time will required assess changes life. Future studies with longer follow-up periods are needed investigate whether results may change long run.
